Gail A. Marquis, Vice President

Gail Marquis background as a professional basketball player and Olympic Champion and Silver Medalist taught her how to take a disciplined approach to meeting her long-term goals. It is the same approach she recommends her clients use when approaching their financial future.
Gail made the move from professional sports to financial services more than 20 years ago. Her financial service career spans five major brokerage firms holding various positions ranging from management, information technology (IT), sales, portfolio management and finance.
Throughout her financial service career, however, Gail has maintained her passion for basketball. She is a 1976 USA Olympic Champion and Silver Medalist and a New York fixture in women's basketball. As a sought-after lecturer and speaker, she eagerly shares her career milestones and viewpoints at business symposiums in support of women's causes.
While maintaining a successful career in brokerage, finance and banking, she has been able to couple it with a vibrant sports career. While Gail was writing code for a major system development at PaineWebber she was also officiating Division I college basketball. While managing the credit and billing systems for a major shipping firm, she was the broadcast color commentator for women's basketball games at Rutgers and Penn State Universities of the NCAA and for the New England and Philadelphia franchises of the American Basketball League.
As she monitored tax reporting to clients and the IRS for one brokerage firm she maintained a weekly on-air assignment covering the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and New York Liberty on SportsDesk for the Madison Square Garden Network. Gail remains a Featured Analyst for the WNBA analyzing season-long action on the NBA Entertainment Network.
While her financial services career has been spent exclusively at mega-firms, Gail is excited now to be part of a smaller, more intimate team of professionals in Element Financial Group. This affords her the opportunity to offer her clients more of a boutique, concierge level experience.
Gail is a member of the Queens College Foundation, the new Sports Management Charter School in Bronx, New York, the Women's Sports Foundation and the New York City Sports Commission. She is most proud of her passionate involvement in NYC2012, the movement to bring the Olympic Games to New York City in 2012.
Gail is the recipient of several lifetime achievement and business visionary awards. She has been inducted into four Halls of Fame for women and sports. She is a Certified Financial Manager and has her FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 registrations. She also holds Life and Health Insurance licenses in New York and New Jersey. She earned her MBA in Finance from the University of Phoenix and her BA in Education and Psychology from Queens College.
Gail and her partner of nearly 10 years, Audrey Smaltz, live in New York, NY and Jersey City, NJ.
