Andrea Hauptman-Perez, Associate
Andrea Hauptman-Perez's entrepreneurial instincts and her drive to help small businesses build a solid fiscal foundation make her ideally suited for helping Element Financial Group's small business clients and business owners. Andrea brings to Element and our clients a keen understanding of small business planning and what it takes to be successful in today's competitive environment.
Andrea spent nearly ten years serving in various financial control roles for Fortune 500 financial service companies including Prudential Securities, Union Bank of Switzerland, and Credit Suisse First Boston. In addition, she served as the Controller of a Non-Profit Cultural Arts Center.
While she has a talent and passion for finances, her appetite for running her own business was realized through her favorite talent, baking. With the encouragement of friends and family, Andrea was an instant success after putting together 30 orders in the first few short weeks of surveying interest in her home baked desserts. Sophisticated Sweets was born. With Sophisticated Sweets, Andrea developed a successful home baked goods and gift basket business, catering to business clients, which she owned and operated for six years.
To complement the seasonal business cycle of Sophisticated Sweets, Andrea started a small business consulting practice, AMH Consulting. AMH Consulting worked with a variety of small businesses to put sound financial controls in place, to help eliminate debt, create cash flow analyses, budgets, projections and spending plans. She also performed bookkeeper and controller duties for her clients. As her consulting flourished Andrea realized it fed her passion even more then baking did. She applied her own experiences with Sophisticated Sweets and her financial expertise to help business owners realize their vision for their business. As her passion for her work grew, Andrea realized the need to fully leverage her expertise on behalf of her clients.
In an effort to provide clients with more comprehensive services, Andrea searched for a full-service wealth management firm that could offer concierge-level, comprehensive financial services to her clients. In that search, she found Element Financial Group and quickly determined that it best fit her personal and professional needs and the needs of her clients.
As a highly energetic and athletic woman, Andrea has competed in four triathlons, as well as the NYC Marathon. She has also completed the PMC Challenge, a 200 mile bike ride across Massachusetts to benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, for three consecutive years.
Andrea has her MBA in Finance from The Lubin Graduate School of Business, Pace University. She also received her BA in Economics from Rutgers University. She and her husband Valentin (Val) Perez have a beautiful young daughter and son. The family resides in Parsippany, NJ.
